Abstract. The excellence germplasm of Aceh cattle, which is genetic resources of local breed
in Indonesia, need to be protected and preserved to maintain its population. Animals can reach
optimal physical condition, if they grow in the supported areas with the suitability of
environmental physics. The purpose of this study is to evaluate topography areas to determine
land suitability for Aceh cattle breed. This article discussed about concept of land suitability and
its potency as tools to determine land suitability as the area for animal husbandry. The focus for
evaluation of this method is by applying geographical GIS information including spatial for
kinds of soils, land elevation, slope, climate, rainfall and temperature with the FAO standard for
land suitability. As approval for the function of this application, it is required to analyses the
geospatial data arranged based on kinds of soils, land elevation, slope, climate, rainfall and
temperature. By the geospatial data, the physical environmental requirement of Aceh cattle can
be observed and measured. The results of the study indicated that about 96.48% of all areas in
Aceh Besar district was categorized as suitability (S) for the area of cattle Aceh (orders) and
only 3.52% of the areas was not suitability (N) for for the area of cattle Aceh.
