On 19th March, 2021 the CAIE, wing of DPS Nacharam marked the celebration of World Water Day. The assembly was presented by Grade 8A Students. The assembly
included all the elements. The Master of ceremonies was carried out by Ms. Mahati and Master Akshay. The Word of the day was spoken by Master Sachin. Ms. Trisha
recited a poem penned down by Ms. Pankhuri. Master Siddharth shared the happenings in the world. The learners also organized a Model UN Discussion forum which
highlighted the issue of water crisis on global and local level and it was lead by Ms. Kaatyanini, Ms. Purvi and Master Nihaal.
List of wonderful water facts was shared by Master Abhitesh. While the economics of water loss game was hosted by Ms. Mahati and Master Akshay. The VP, CAIE Ms.
M. F Shanti Anthony, addressed the School and congratulated the class 8A for a wonderful and creative assembly.

Rhymes / Poetry Performance
In the words of Sarah Kay, “Spoken word poetry is the art of performance...it involves creating
poetry that just doesn’t want to sit on paper, that something about it demands it be heard out

loud or witnessed in person…” and definitely the month of March heard and witnessed the
vibrant performances of our learners who delighted and enamoured everyone with their
brilliant display of performance poetry. The participants across grades (3-5 & 6-10) took up

themes of diverse nature including racism, nostalgia surrounding childhood, self-love etc. At
several points during the competition the level of identification with the poem was so intense
that poetry was soon forgotten and the stage was set for live performances that was way

beyond their age. As reflected in the words of William Watson, “I am always thinking of how
gestures add meaning or punctuation to a word or phrase”, with their energetic actions and
immaculate expressions, the learners of Cambridge generated life into the poems and made

the event worth remembering.
