Concept of Mental Health:



                         It is the ability to learn and think clearly. It is the ability to handle day-

                  to-day  events  and  obstacles,  work  towards  important  goals,  and  function

                  effectively in a society.


                 Concept of Mental Illness:


                         Refers  collectively  to  all  diagnosable  mental  disorders  as  changes  in

                  thinking,  emotion  and/or  behavior,  distress  and/or  problems  functioning  in

                  social, work or family activities.


                 Concept of Social Health:



                         Social health can be defined as our ability to interact and form meaningful

                  relationships with others. It also relates to how comfortably we can adapt in

                  social  situations.  Social  relationships  have  an  impact  on  our  mental  health,

                  physical health and mortality risk.


                   Concept of Occupational Health:


                         Occupational Health  is  the  promotion and maintenance  of  the  highest

                  degree of physical, mental and social well-being of workers in all occupations

                  by preventing departures from health, controlling risks and the adaptation of

                  work to people, and people to their jobs.


                  Concept of Disease: Disease is the existence of some pathology or abnormality of

                  the body, which can be detected by using accepted investigation methods. Ex. To

                  say that you have hypertension, you should measure your blood pressure.

                  Concept of Illness


                         Illness is the subjective state of a person who states that he is not being

                  well.
