Advocacy:


                         Refers to as someone who pleads the cause of another. In the nursing

                  profession,  advocacy  means  preserving  human  dignity,  promoting  patient

                  equality, and providing freedom from suffering. It is also about ensuring that

                  patients have the right to make decisions about their own health.


                  Aims of Health Education:


                         To provide information about health and its value.

                         To maintain norms of good health.

                         To take precautionary and preventive measures against communicable

                           diseases.

                         To render assistance to the school going children an understanding of

                           the nature and purpose of health services and facilities.

                         To develop and promote mental and emotional health.

                         To develop a sense of civic responsibility.


                  Basic Principles of Health Education

                      o  All health education should be need based.

                      o  Health education should aim at change of behavior.
