Behind the Scenes:
CGSA’s year-round
commitment to you
It is always interesting for many to
discover that the fall and winter is the
busiest time for the CGSA staff. While
many courses are closed for the winter
and Superintendents, along with their
teams, are enjoying some much
needed and well-deserved time off,
this is not the case for the CGSA staff.
They are tirelessly making sure the
upcoming year’s activities are being
planned and ready to execute in the
spring.
This year has been no different!
Planning for the Canadian Golf Course
Management Conference started much
earlier in the year and the CGSA has
worked alongside the Ontario Golf
Superintendents’ Association to
prepare and make this event a success.
Both CGSA and OGSA staff have been
busy finalizing the details to be ready
to welcome everyone to Niagara Falls.
At the time of writing, I am happy
to report that the trade show is sold
out and our attendee numbers are
outstanding. The CGSA appreciates
every attendee, presenter, exhibitor
and sponsor who participates in our
event. We are aware you have various
options each year and thank you for
choosing The Canadian.
We are also looking forward to two
other events that will take place in 2025:
the Summer Shamble at The Okanagan
Club in Kelowna, BC on June 24th and
the Fall Field Day at Club de Golf Laval-
sur-le-Lac in Quebec on October 7th.
Mark your calendars now as these
locations will be a draw for many.
I had the privilege to attend two
events this past fall and represent the
CGSA at the Alberta Golf Superintendents
Association Property Managers Confer-
ence in Canmore followed by the Golf
Business Canada Conference & Trade
Show in Calgary. Both provided me with
the opportunity to experience two top
notch events, excellent education and
networking opportunities. Thank you to
the AGSA for your warm welcome in
Canmore; it’s always nice to see and
meet many of our members in person.
While this magazine is published
pretty close to when The Canadian
begins, I look forward to seeing many of
you there.
As always, we are here to support
you. Please feel free to reach out
anytime and we look forward to another
successful season in 2025.
