The West Coast Golf Season Begins
At press time and due to the timing of the reporting cycle, February was the most current month for Rounds Played, Weather and Revenue Tracker reports. The NGCOA Canada delivers these reports to its members on a monthly basis via the Association’s electronic newsletter. Courses who participate in the Rounds and Weather surveys receive regional reports in addition to the national and provincial
reports. This enables a course to compare their data with their regional competitive set. For con dentiality purposes, a minimum of 5 courses is needed in order to provide regional reports.
Due to the seasonality of our golf season, rounds and weather for the months of January and February are mainly focused on courses in British Columbia however the Revenue Tracker Report is representative of the entire country, twelve months of the year.
For more information or to participate in Revenue Tracking, Rounds Played and Weather Reporting, contact Brent Hutcheon at bhutcheon@ngcoa.ca or 866-626-4262 ext. 41.

REVENUE TRACKER February 2018
With most of the country still under snow in February, an increase in revenues over 2017 is an indicator that clubs are placing a greater focus on non-green fee revenues such
as membership sales, packages, league registrations, special events that include F&B, online merchandise sales and pre-opening sales during consumer golf shows. This is a positive indicator and trend leading into the opening of the golf season.
*the report contains a sample of over 500 ‘same store’ golf facilities from across Canada reporting total Visa, MasterCard and Debit transactions from all departments.

ROUNDS PLAYED February 2018
Although there were a few courses in Central Canada that reported rounds, there were not enough to generate reports for that area of country and therefore the report below focuses on the Vancouver area, Vancouver Island and the Fraser Valley.
Operators in the reporting regions noted lower than average weather for February 2018 rounds were up almost 33% when comparing to February 2017 and up 47% Year-to-Date (January & February).
