Our partnership with Grandview
Heights Secondary School began with
a simple request to host their new golf
team. What started as a need for
practice and play has evolved into a
valuable collaboration.
Recognizing the hiring challenges,
I inquired about the possibility of a
work placement program that sparked
a deeper partnership. Here is how we
have supported Grandview Heights:
• Practice and Play: Each spring
Thursday, the golf team practices at
Morgan Creek with no charge for
range balls before playing a round.
The team pays a discounted rate of
$29 per round, and our junior
members join with their fees prepaid.
• Complimentary Range Balls: We provide up to 70 range balls per
player at no charge, helping the team develop their skills.
• Team Uniforms: We cover the cost of shirts each year, featuring the
school’s logo and our Morgan Creek logo. The total cost is about
$350–$400.
• Scholarship Fund: In 2024, we introduced a Junior Golf Scholarship,
awarding one graduating member based on GPA, golf ability, and
character. This year, Tristan, a former junior member and grounds
crew worker, was selected.
• Work Placement Opportunities: We have hired over a dozen students
for roles in the restaurant, grounds crew, and outside services.
Sierra Rai, Athletic Director, Grandview Heights, shared her
appreciation for the partnership, “Morgan Creek understands the
importance of community connections. At Grandview Heights we
teach students to give back, and when the community does the same,
everyone benefits!”
As Morgan Creek Golf Course continues to value community
connections, we are excited to expand this initiative to other local high
schools. Together, we can create lasting relationships that benefit both
students and our business, fostering a thriving community.
