using our products). Singapore & Germany are two of our major export countries. We
are one of the few companies that ship regularly to China.

About 30 years ago, I started a branch of my company in Bangalore, as a 100% Export
Oriented Unit, which we operated for 10 years. I could write a separate book about
this experience in India. Some of them were horror stories. For example, for getting a
telephone connection to my new factory in Bangalore, the local Government telephone
office told me that I could not get a phone connection, because there were no phone
lines available in that phone exchange. They told me the only way I could get a phone
connection was to get a letter signed by the Central Government Communication Minister.
So, I went to New Delhi, met the minister, got his signature and came back and got the
phone connection. The technician who came to install the phone said he could have
gotten the connection, if I had given him Rs. 5000. This is the way of operation in India.
But in USA, in more than 40 years of operating a manufacturing Company, I have never
had a Government Inspector come and harass.

In 2003, when India had a severe shortage of Foreign Exchange, NRIs were the biggest
contributors to help India. In 2003, the prime minister of India Mr. Vajpayee had organized
the first Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, and in appreciation of the NRIs’ contributions to their
motherland, he had arranged a nice party in Delhi with a 14 gun salute at the Parliament
building to the NRIs that attended the function. This was the most gratifying moment
of my life to have done something worthwhile to my country. I met Mr. Modi at this
function as a dynamic Chief Minister of Gujarat. In the last 40 years that our company
has been in business, continuous innovation and improvements have never stopped
and because of this we stay ahead of our competitors and we have many products that
are not available anywhere else in the world. Continuous innovation and improvement
keeps you ahead of your competitors and is the key to success.

My elder brother Dr. Puttaiah is a retired professor. In his teaching career of about 5
decades, he starts each new class with a proverb of a Chinese Philosopher Confucius:
“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” This is so
true.

IN INDIA ( MOST OF IT IN GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS & COLLEGES )
AND ESPECIALLY UVCE FOR THE BEST ENGINEERING EDUCATION
THAT I GOT, FROM THE MOST DEDICATED TEACHERS IN EACH
FIELD.

The Plastic part in the photo is one of my inventions
that is used for bending a radius Column Cover 4 Ft. in
diameter x 14 Ft. long for an Architectural Application.
