MORINGA FOR VOKKALIGA

VOKKALU is a profession. Plowing the land for food is the basics of VOKKALU. The

person plowing the land is called VOKKALIGA.

Vokkaliga is no less a professional than an engineer, doctor, administrator or politician.
Vokkaliga stands equal to all in profession. In one word, Vokkaliga is the Trunk and all
other professionals are Branches of the Tree.

Humanity started VOKKALU as the first profession by gathering leaves and fruits from
plants and trees for survival. He then started plowing, seeding, planting, harvesting, and
processing grains and vegetables for food. Today, the offshoots of the Vokkalu profession
are manifold- Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Processing, Agricultural Technology,
Plant Bio Technology, Agricultural Marketing etc.

As human intelligence developed, society and civilization evolved and gave rise to
advanced professions as witnessed today. Vokkalu, the traditional profession is fading
and fast becoming obsolete. Knowingly or unknowingly, we are neglecting the vokkalu
profession which is the backbone of human survival. Imagine an old tree that is growing
huge, and its branches by itself is a threat, as it can no longer bear its own weight. Today,

the VOKKALU profession is facing the same threat.

Why this is happening? We must analyze to find the solution.

Modern day professions, life styles, food and clothing have made Vokkalu/ farming
not attractive and sustainable. Most people are switching from Vokkalu to other
professions. The VOKKALIGA is also abandoning his Vokkalu profession. This is leading to
an unbelievable short supply of food.
