  PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Venus Martz
Hello September! It is my absolute favorite time of the year with warm summer air turning crisp and falling into autumn.
Ladies! Reserve your calendar for Friday, September 24th for the Chamber’s Annual Women’s Empowerment Seminar: Caring For Yourself! Presented by The Emerson Family YMCA and sponsored by SSM Health DePaul Hospital. We have lined up phenomenal speakers for the day with Kennedy Brown, A.R.C. Angels Foundation; Jorina Celeridad, Girls Getta Grip; Dr. Robyn Lawrence, Get Well Family Chiropractic; Halina Conti, Ameriprise Financial Services; and Kaelyn Witner, SSM Health. Call the chamber office today! Sponsorships are available.
We are also looking to fill 5 new board seats. You must be a Chamber member in good standing (Associate members and members that are less than a year are not eligible). The five new directors will take their seat in January 2022 and serve a 3-year term. A nominating committee will select the new board members, if you are interested, please fax/e-mail/drop off your nomination form.
We are also taking nominations for the 2022 Business Person of the Year and the 2022 Zykan Family Legacy Award. Please get the nominations to the Chamber office as soon as possible.
Sign up now for our Membership Luncheon on September 15th at Glen Echo Country Club! We will have MODOT present to us about I-270 and its updates. Lun- cheon sponsor will be Archwell Health and the non-profit of the month is the St. Ferdinand Thanksgiving Dinner.
We’re having a very special Business After Hours on September 9th at the Chamber Office from 5-7 p.m.! We are celebrating our very own Jaime Jenkins’ 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY at the Chamber! We would not be the strong Chamber and dream team we are without Jaime, so come by for 5 minutes or the whole 2 hours! And the next day, stop by for our First Responders BBQ as we thank and honor our First Responders at the Chamber office from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.!
And if you’re weekend isn’t full enough, please support Taste in Ferguson on September 12th from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.! We are one of the sponsors and would love to get as much Chamber and community support as possible!
As the change of season begins, I leave you with this quote said best by Albert Einstein, “Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.”
