                                                 Mount Scenery Trail






                                                 Just outside Windwardside - towards the capital, ‘The Bottom’ - you will find the

                                                 departure point for the Mount Scenery Trail. This trail is a must-do. 1,064 steps
                                                 and an hour and a half later, you will arrive at the summit of the mountain

                                                 that  does  justice  to  its  name.  Some  days  the  summit  of  the  mountain  is

                                                 mysteriously veiled in mist, others, you will find it basking in glorious sunshine.
                                                 Next, you are rewarded with an enchanting view of the adjacent islands.




                                                 On the way to the summit, you will find palm trees, orchids, banana plants,
                                                 mahogany trees, oleander and hibiscus. Everything growing wild! As a human

                                                 being  you  become  ever  more  insignificant  whilst  nature  adopts  majestic

                                                 forms. Particularly in the basin of the volcano, tropical cloud forest grows.


                                                 Saba’s national flower, ‘Black-eyed Susan’, is the only thing to remind you of
                                                 your location. The colorful bird species, the bashful tree frogs and the innocent

                                                 snakes are unperturbed by the passers-by. Don’t forget a warm sweater and a

                                                 raincoat on your way to the summit. There is a different climate when you are
                                                 877 meters up.
