grew up on the Rice Lake Plains and the Valley of the Big Stone
was on our family farm known as Tower Farm. In the 1980s, my
mother visiting me in Nova Scotia dug up and transported a dwarf
white rose bush (rosa blanda) from the Valley of the Big Stone.
Descendants of the rose bushes from the story of the three lost
children appear in the plant collage illustrating M’s visit with the
Wise Woman.
