Dear name of MP

Congratulations on being elected as the MP for xxxxx

I live in xxxx (area where you live) and as your constituent I would like to urge you to ensure that the
new Government prioritises the work for women and girls.

Women make up more than 50% of the UK population and it is imperative that any Government
ensures their perspectives are taken into consideration and that policies and programmes are not
gender blind but enable the full and meaningful participation of women at every level.

As a member of the UK Civil Society Women’s Alliance, I am asking that you advocate for a strong
institutional mechanism for women and girls as the previous one was disbanded in December 2010
and engage with civil society in a meaningful manner.

We would also wish to see a Minister for Women with a single portfolio with a seat at the Cabinet
            Table and related salary.

In its foreign policy, the UK must strengthen its commitment to ensure equality for women and girls
and domestically must implement the international agreements to which the UK is already a
            signatory.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts on these issues and to meeting with you soon to discuss them.

Once again I congratulate you on your new role and look forward to a meaningful collaboration
            towards equality for all.

            Yours sincerely

            Xxxxx
