Those members at our National Conference who heard Nick Gazzard speak
during our Advocacy session will be pleased to know that ‘Hollie Guard’ has been
recognised by the College of Policing as a best practice tool for enhancing person-
al safety and supporting police in addressing Domestic Abuse and supporting Vio-
lence Against Women and Girls.

This is a free app which transforms your smartphone into an advanced per-
sonal safety device. It is suitable for use to stay safe and now used by thousands of
subscribers.

I would love to hear from members who have written a congratulatory letter
to their recently elected MP and any response. (Suggested template in July e-news)
It would also be useful to know their constituency, political party and name in any of
our future lobbying.

UK Parliament Week 18th-24th November is to publicise the workings of Par-
liament. A free publicity pack is available and includes a useful booklet explaining in
plain English how it works, finding your way around the different committees and
access to the Parliamentary website to look at proposed laws currently in progress.
