At the suggestion of President Bessie, we brought back the
tradition of selecting a Legislator of the Year, honoring State
Senate President Pro Tempore, Toni G. Atkins.
Although the Senator was not able to attend, she sent us a video
message.

Our afternoon session included an update via Zoom from
NFBPWC VP for Advocacy, Daneene Monroe Rusnak, and a
presentation of the 3L Advocacy Module by Barbara Davis.

Our Bill Screening Committee members, Sally McMahon, Elaine Aftergut, Elaine
Sierra and Public Policy Co-Chair Linda J. Lucas, began their year by discussing and
voting during the conference to support three pending bills. Their work has continued
throughout the year. Here are some of the bills reviewed by the committee this year:
