After a shower we sat outside in the sunshine, drinking G&T and people-watching. It
was very different weather to March! Being by the side of a busy road reminded us of plac-
es we have stayed, in the States, where locals come to eat, drink, watch sport at hotels and
malls on the highway, and in fact there was a baseball game showing in the bar. Made a
welcome change from footie!
We ordered some nachos as an appetiser to snack on and then when the sun slipped
out of sight, we went inside and ordered house beef burgers and a bottle of wine.
It was all delicious; generous portions, piping hot and served by friendly and efficient
staff. We were too stuffed for pudding but did have a coffee.
We had a relatively early night as we were collecting my Mum the next day and tak-
ing her back to Portsmouth with us, for the D-Day events.
We both slept well and enjoyed a Full English before we left.
A lovely prize and a very nice stay - short but sweet and it served a purpose.
Sorry to Sue Holtom for not arranging a meet-up - let’s do that another time :-)
Thanks to Young BPW for arranging the raffle and I look forward to seeing you all
again at some point during the year, primarily virtually, but in person when I can and defi-
nitely ‘oop in the toon’ next year.
Cheers everyone and hope we all get a summer to enjoy.
