         CFBPW Bill Screening Committee Vote: Support

          Status of bill: 5/18/2023.  In Assembly Appropriations Committee, held under sub-
         mission.

         Public Policy Statement: CFBPW supports the elimination of all violence perpetrated against
         women, including human trafficking and sexual violence, and supports the protection of victims’
         rights.


         Senate Bills

         SB 59  Author(s)  Skinner, Agular-Curry   Equity, Period

         Would require state and local government building restrooms to be stocked with free,
         accessible menstrual products.

         Status of bill: 5/18/2023. In Senate, held in Appropriations Committee under sub-
         mission.
         Public Policy Statement:  CFBPW promotes greater focus on women’s health care in-
         cluding support for reproductive justice, freedom of choice, access to family planning,
         protection foor all health care needs affecting women and ensuring funding for re-
         search.


         SB 77 Author, Umberg    Elections Code Amendments re Signature verification
         This bill would require the county elections official, to additionally notify the voter by
         a text message or email if the elections official has a telephone number or email ad-
         dress for the voter on file.

         Status of bill: Chaptered 10/10/2023
         Public Policy Statement: Refer to CFBPW Focus Issues ( 2022-2024) related to
         “Protect voting rights for all eligible voters including women”).


         SB 260 Author(s)  Menjivar:  Addutuibak: Hurtad & Skinner

         CalWorks provides cash assistance and other benefits to qualified low-income fami-
         lies and individuals. Other necessary supportive services are available including
         childcare and menstrual product costs.
