Twinning speech Rome 2024

I am so very proud that BPW UK is able to twin with BPW Chernihiv.

Many of you in this room will have heard about the “Van for Chernihiv” project
which BPW UK co-wrote with the past European co-ordinator Amélie LeClercq. Through this
humanitarian project we have built strong relationships with the club in Chernihiv. The first
shoots of our relationship will now grow into a strong oak tree with the ratification of our
Federation twinning with the BPW Chernihiv Club.

Through the donations, we have achieved so much more than we hoped for.
The twinning of our clubs will allow for phase two of the humanitarian aid project to be
implemented.

This glass candle stand was made in my home city of Bristol in the UK.

“Bristol Blue Glass” is made in a hot furnace and becomes a beautiful
piece of glass.

Our BPW sisters in Chernihiv have too been in a heated situation but-
they will come out the other side stronger and more confident in their
ability to make a difference, and as beautiful as this candle holder.

Our BPW collect says “As we light a candle for them, we know that they
light a candle for us”.

This unique candle expresses love from one group of BPW sisters to another.
