me some of my very best friends. When I reflect on my experience overall, I
wouldn’t have changed it. I met a bunch of amazing young men and women, my

lifelong friends who will forever hold a special place in my heart. I was taught by
some of the most inspiring professors who always encouraged me to follow my
passions. And I was also able to explore more of my spirituality and religion at
SCU. The biggest lesson I have learned is the beauty of change. Without change
and particularly the challenges that come with that change, we are unable to
recognize the beauty that comes along with life. My college friends are some of the
most cherished people in my life. While a lot of people experience this same

growth from high school to college, I believe that my COVID-19 class was able to
grasp something even more powerful. Our resilience to the challenges that we
faced outside of the typical challenges of the first time college experience is
something that will motivate me in years to come.
You may be wondering, what’s next for Jordan Bennett? Well, I am now officially
a Second Lieutenant Medical Services Officer in the United States Army. Upon
receiving my commission, I earned the title of Distinguished Military Graduate

(meaning that I ranked in the top 20% nationwide). I will be attending Basic
Officer Leader Course (BOLC) in October, where I will be at Fort Sam Houston
(San Antonio, TX) for about 7 weeks. After that I will be sent to my first duty
station (I am still awaiting my location) where I will be serving for the next 4
years. I am open to staying in the Army after my 4 years is up, however, I have
learned it is best to keep your mind open to opportunities.
I know I say this often, but truly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

               Best,
               Jordan
