VALLEY SUNSET DISTRICT
Burbank BPW will be the host club for our Fall Conference where Valley Sunset District will hon-
or our club and district Women of Achievement. The meeting will be held on September 14 at
the Burbank First United Methodist Church.
This year’s Valley Sunset District Woman of Achievement is our own, “Ms. BPW”, Marjory Hop-
per. We are honoring Marjory for her many years of service to our organization, and especial-
ly, to Hollywood BPW. A retired children’s librarian, Marjory has held many BPW offices and
chairmanships. She has traveled extensively to attend national and international meetings
throughout the United States and many countries abroad. The many outstanding speakers
who accepted Marjory’s invitations have definitely enriched our meetings. Her club’s Susan B.
Anthony and Men of Hollywood Awards have been major events for many years.
Zizette Mullins, member of the Burbank City Council, was chosen by Burbank BPW for her long-
time service to the community. She worked for the City of Glendale before becoming the Bur-
bank City Clerk. In addition to her duties as an elected official, Zizette is a former business
owner and has been extensively involved in her community, serving on numerous boards and
task forces.
Captain Jennifer Seetoo, the Conejo Valley BPW honoree, is a 24-year veteran of the Los Ange-
les County Sheriff’s Department and the Lost Hills Station’s first female captain. Captain
Seetoo spent a year in Iraq and Jordan, training Iraqi police officers. She also worked for the
Department of Homeland Security on the Joint Terrorism Task Force and as a Deputy Director
of the Joint Regional Intelligence Center, a cooperative effort between federal, state and local
law enforcement and public safety agencies.
Conejo Valley BPW is the host club for the Winter Conference which will focus on climate
change and feature Kathy Kelley as guest speaker. Kathy is a former NFBPWC Vice President
Membership. The District’s Members-at-Large will chair the Annual Conference. This meeting
will include a panel of speakers on homelessness issues. Plans are also underway for the Valley
Sunset’s Annual Holiday Luncheon in December.
