MILITARY AFFAIRS REPORT
The Military Affairs Committee is appreciative of the interest in “launching” this mission
expansion from CFBPW President Anne Marie and Chico BPW. CFBPW programming has
scheduled a program speaker who is speaking on women veterans, active duty and organiza-
tions involving this unique population at the Fall Board Meeting.
Chico BPW has sponsored a student member that has graduated from a California uni-
versity and has been commissioned as a U. S. Army Second Lieutenant. The members of
Chico BPW have unanimously voted to continue her membership. This Chairwoman is com-
municating with her as she trains to become a professional full-fledged Army Officer, it is with
this in mind this this Chair will inform CFBPW of the training our women military receive and
their career advancement and choices from a “hands on” resource.
We are encouraging all Clubs to contact their local Military Recruitment Centers and
request a representative to speak at a program meeting. These military representatives are
well versed on the benefits, training and opportunities that a military career offers to our
young student members presently and beyond. It is his Chairwoman’s goal to inform the
members and build a firm foundation for this Committee and CFBPW.
Chairwoman Connie Stahl is appreciative of the opportunity to share with her BPW Sis-
ters a life that has been dear to her heart as a military officer’s wife and widow.

P.S.
I regret that I cannot attend the meeting personally as my physician does not want me to
travel too far at this time. I got hit by a car July 1 and am making a slow but steady recovery.
….. Not fun and lots of physical therapy!
