Mary’s promised, first-ever physical at age 50 didn’t happen until two weeks shy of her 52nd birthday.
Appointment started on a sour note. Fifteen minutes late, the doctor remarked — rather sternly — that Mary had only seen her once before.
(Hey, I've been pretty healthy my entire life, but you make me feel as if I have been sneaking around seeing other doctors behind your back.)
Mary stressed that she was faithful about getting annual ob/gyn exams. But Doc didn’t appear reassured. Wasting no time, Mary immediately proceeded to tick off her concerns.
A nagging pain in her upper back was not there a few months ago. Nothing helped. Not massage, not chiropractic, not pilates, not yoga, not physical therapy.
