5 years have passed since Dan’s new journey began in June 2011. A lot has changed, yet
nothing has changed.
The Global Company has continued to grow at its customary pace; operations have started
in few more countries and few more Billion Dollar brands have been created. A new
mandatory training, ‘my Success! my Choice’ has been introduced for all newly promoted
Section Managers. All current Section Managers, Associate Director and Directors have also
been trained. The company has renewed its Performance Evaluation system to include
Potential and Contribution as key assessment areas and has refocused it on improving
Potential skills and boosting strengths versus correcting weaknesses.
Amy Brown has never regretted her decision to stay back in The Global Company. Her
project NG -- to bring restaurant-like-flexibility in supply chains -- has been expanded
companywide. She became Associate Director 2 years back.
Tom Adams could not make Associate Director despite Dan’s significant efforts. Dan was
deeply disappointed but realized that Tom was unable to share/practice what he was being
taught. He left The Global Company 4 years back and joined a smaller corporation as Director,
a role almost equivalent to Section Manager in The Global Company. News is that he is again
in the job market because of stagnation.
