Through this never-ending rock-paper-scissors game, my 3 side-blotched lizard friends with

different throat colors are able to survive in the wild desert of Los Bañnos Grandes,
California. No one throat color becomes the most prominent trait for too long, no throat
color comes to fixation and takes over the entire population, and no one throat color is lost

from the population of lizards. This is abnormal to me because most of my gecko traits do
not vary as often between my family members as the throat color traits do in my lizard

friends. Additionally, if one new trait is to come into my gecko population, it usually evolves to
a standard frequency-but this is not the case with the throat color in my friends!
