Designer’s Bio                                                                                           Eileen






                 Eileen Gray is one of the  leading designers on the modern design                                                  Gray

                 movement. She was born in Wexford, Ireland, on 1878. Despite being Irish, she
                 rapidly move to London, where she studied painting in Slade school of arts,

                 being one of the first woman to be admitted.



                 Once finished her studies,  she moved to Paris in 1902. By this time She  was
                 known of one of the leading desginers specialized on ornamental panels and

                 screens. On 1922 she opened her first own gallery where she could exhibit her
                 own unique designs.



                 Eileen made also a big contribution on the architecture ambit. She

                 designed two houses in the south-east part of France, which are the best
                 reflections of the arquitecture and interior design of the late 20s. Eileen's

                 career stands out for its collection of furniture and decorative objects with its
                 avant-garde aesthetic and the use of tubular steel sections
