When starting a new sketchbook take a print of the sketching
commandments and fix them to the cover as a reminder of the
commitment made. Engaging with this application is the cornerstone for
improvement.
1.6 Digital Sketching

The use of digital sketching is becoming increasingly used in the
design industry and so too in design education. It is helping bridge
introduction
the gap between the creative and technical stages of any design
project, allowing students to jump more readily between platforms.
As a programme we are beginning to adopt digital sketching and
through practice, discover the best ways of utilising the
technology. However, it is important for students to understand
that the skills and techniques of sketching must still be learned in
order to realise your thoughts and designs. The technology, at the
moment, cannot interpret what is happing in your head. It is you
that must feed the technology. At present it is still more efficient
to sketch by hand and we encourage you to develop that skill first,
