2.5 Polychromo Pencils
The addition of colour to any sketchwork gives depth adding information
and realisation. The use of appropriate rendering pencils are essential to
achieving this. Polychromo pencils provide consistency of colour and work
well with other mediums such as pens and markers. Colours can be
individually replaced and the leads have a high level of break resistance.

When cared for they have longevity. The recommended brand is Faber
Castell.
2.4 Felt Tip Pens
Using ink when sketching can help
develop confidence allowing a
designer to commit to their sketch
and assist in removing the risk
factor of ‘mistakes’. Varying
dimensions of felt tips offer
designers the opportunity to add
depth, detail and impact when
sketching. 0.1, 0.3, 0.5 and 0.7mm
black ink felt tip pens are specified.
Recommended brands include
Unipin, Fineline and Edding 1800.
