Product Selection Selection process

To begin the review design case study project the selection process began by

choosen one of the following areas:

• DIY Hand Tools

• O ce/Kitchen

• Medical

The aim was to nd a suitable product on the market that met the speci c

requirements and could go through a product breakdown process and

re-design. I began by looking at the general and popular devices in each of

the named

categories. Moving onto choosing an area that stood out to me and nally

choosing a suitable product.

Benchmark Research

Once i was comfortable in my chosen product. i then started to research the

di erent appuratus types used. I had experience using some of the devices

before so i was able to make a decision on the area i was going into.

• Drill

• Grinder

• Heat gun

• Hot Glue gun

Many of the devices i had researched had di erent interesting areas that i

could research but the on i felt i could breakdown most was the hot glue gun

it had areas i felt i could x and improve.
