My chosen Design icon is the famous Philippe Starck. Phillippe Starck is a french designer particularly known for
his post- modern designs. He likes to use bright colours, quirky style designs, and likes to make use of unlike-
ly/unusual materials. Philippe Starck’s work can be identified by his repeated shape and forms. His designs appear
to look curvaceous and are textured smoothly. They are very 'stroke -able’ and very ‘tactile’. They have an aerody-
namic look, from the largest to the smallest object.Philippe Starck's designs are doing well with companies and
buyers. The secret to his continued success, he says, is his philosophy of "democratic design". Starck's definition
of democratic design is design that provides quality pieces at accessible prices.
