            Philips contributed to the development of various industries in several ways. They
            played a significant role in the lighting industry, revolutionizing it with innovations

            such as the  compact cassette,  CD,  DVD, and  Blu-ray formats. Philips also co-
            invented the lithography process, which is crucial for chip production, leading to
            the establishment of companies like  ASML and  TSMC. Additionally, Philips made

            advancements in  consumer electronics, particularly in  audio-visual products,
            following the example of their  Japanese competitors. However, over time, Philips

            struggled to keep up with changing consumer trends and failed to capitalize on
            emerging technologies, leading to a decline in their influence in these industries.



            The   is a unique invention developed by  Philips in the area of  shavers. This
            innovative system features circular blades that rotate to efficiently and comfortably

            cut hair during shaving. It is designed to provide a close and smooth shave, allowing
            for effective hair removal without causing irritation or discomfort. This  technology
            has contributed to the creation of defensible and profitable shaver product lines for

            Philips, showcasing their expertise in the  grooming industry.
