03 Marketing for Design
was a completely unknown field for me before this semester and I was very happy to be
able to dive into this subject area. The analytical approach to the development of a brand
and concept was very interesting for me, as I had previously only ever followed a creative
approach, which was applied to the designed product, created in a few hours. I especially
liked the naming and graphic work in the brand development.
04 Industrial Design Collaboration Carve On
I was very happy about the cooperation, because this type of project comes very close to a
realistic project process and at the end or after the project you will find your own product
in the shops at some point. I also find group work very good, as it is an additional challen-
ge to find and work together as a team, just like in the everyday work of a designer. I have
never worked with leather as a material during my studies, but that was not a problem.
What surprised me within the project itself was the change of focus after the interim pre-
sentation, because it was then on the material that was started spontaneously in the first
weeks. This material became the product and the sole subject to be worked on. For me,
it was a special collaboration because I not only worked within the design, but also in a
biochemical laboratory, and thus a second collaboration developed within the university.
The topic impressed and influenced me so much that I am thinking about taking it back to
Germany as my main project for my Bachelor semester and starting an international co-
operation.
