Editorial What’s on
I found it interesting on my trip to England this farmer’s markets &
Christmas holiday, that plants we think of as weeds pop ups
and have never considered incorporating in our
gardens are sold, seed packets and all. Our Saturday 15th February -
foxglove, Ceratotheca triloba (£2.25 at Chiltern Seeds) Valentines Market at Sanitas
is becoming increasingly popular, and our 10am to 3pm
indigenous African cucumber, Cucumis metuliferus Saturdays, 7th & 14th
has even been registered in New Zealand under the March – Introduction to
trade name ‘Kiwano’. I think there’s a lesson in Organic Gardening/Farming
this for us, and it’s time we look to what grows Workshops - Contact Julia
easily in our backyards. What is the ideal garden Saturday 28th March –
anyway, if not that of enjoyment rather than hard Pop-Up Market at Basilico,
work. I wish you all an autumn filled with colour 10am to 3pm
and good weather. Happy gardening! S.C Saturday 11th April – Easter
