A Journey of
Wepic proportionS
hen I was growing up, I was intrigued with how adults chose their careers. I wondered where their journey began, how they made their choices, what motivated them. As I grew up, I discovered that continual growth is true happiness, which sparked my love of Career Development.
Before the age of 30, I had over 40 jobs under my belt as I could not stay with one direction of a trade. This is not necessarily something to boast about, but it does prove that my tenacious need to understand the theory of Career Development was always within me.
Today, I am the director of Phoenix Career Development. I teach a program that is based on proper theories to help clients achieve their dream careers, whether they are students, immigrants, people with disabilities, or simply seeking a gratifying job. I have worked with 3 non-profit companies to help clients change their lives.
Phoenix Career Development teaches career development strategies to enable our clients to pursue more satisfying professional lives. Our program breaks down the steps of career development through ten classes designed to recognize potential for personal achievement.
We begin by understanding our career goals and our need for authentic happiness before moving on to how the job and labour market works. From there, we learn how to market
ourselves through our resumes and online platforms, while learning how to succeed during the interview process and beyond.
At the root of finding a dream career is clarifying our terms and values. What are my values? Humor, Integrity, and Authenticity. I wake up in the morning and get to preach to
people about finding where their potential thrives. I cater to each of my client’s personal needs to unlock their full potential. We begin by understanding that potential is having or showing the capacity to become or develop into something in the future, and to thrive means to prosper; flourish. Because I’ve found my ideal career path, my clients love working with me.

Essentially, the theory of career development focuses on your purpose and vision to guide your own career path. My Grandma
Rosie was very smart with her life purpose: “Accepting the adventure of life connection with others, while communicating effectively and
sharing insight and humor to promote and enhance personal growth.” Life is not about the mountain moments. Life is about the epic
adventure of taking off the masks and being raw with growth and failure.
