Our Health First
Soluna Wellness Medical Centre offers an evidenced based group therapy program. Our main focus is on the treatment of mental and emotional trauma. Health and wellness promotion and growing resiliency is also an important part of the work we do.
It seems the whole world is aligning with the perspective of putting our health first. There have been many losses associated with COVID-19. We honour victims of this crisis and their families. There will be much to be done as we recover from and move forward in a world that is very different from this time last year. Changing our perspectives and priorities to health and wellbeing seemed to happen overnight. Now we need to make longer term decisions that will continue to keep us well. Self care is no longer an option; it is a necessity.
At Soluna Wellness Medical Centre, we consider the healing needs of the whole person. Registered Psychologist, Rita Balanko, and Psychiatrist, Jane Carr, work together so that participants get the benefit of simultaneous therapy with a psychologist and a psychiatrist. This multidisciplinary approach offers participants a breadth of
perspective and expertise. Psychologist Rita and Dr. Jane use an eclectic mix of evidence based modalities collected over a combined total of fifty years of work
in group therapy. The latest to be introduced is ART, Accelerated Resolution Therapy®, an eye movement therapy that allows participants to replace disturbing
images and sensations with positive ones. Developed by Laney Rosenzweig, ART is being used to resolve trauma and other life events.

accessibly as we can. As health care professionals we want mental and emotional trauma to be identified and validated early so treatment
and supports can be provided as soon as possible. Our goal is to support the healing process and minimize the personal and
collateral impact of traumatic life events.
Interested participants can either view program
prerequisites and intake booking information on our website or call the office for a copy to be mailed. At this time COVID-19 precautions and program availability
are carefully evaluated.
The biggest gift to come from this crisis is valuing
our health and the health of our planet. The bottom line is not the dollar; it is health and wellness for
us, for nature and for the planet. You and this global change are worth investing in. Dr. Jane
Carr and Psychologist Rita Balanko are and have been for many years part of this universal
transformation.
