 Safety and Training in a
community of Amazing
tWoMEN IN BuSINESS
his is my third year with Womanition Magazine and I am so happy to be apart of such a supportive group of women in business. Over the years I’ve had the pleasure of meeting women from all types of backgrounds and passions. I believe that Womanition’s founder, Dorothy, has captured a wonderful look into the perspective of the unique challenges it takes to be a woman in buisness in this modern era where
we must adapt and champion each other more than ever.
In previous years, I have written about my personal and professional journey in the safety and training industry
to what is now 4 Points Safety. However with 2020 being such an “interesting” year, there will be many new adventures in our personal lives and business.
When January 1st arrived, I was enthusiatic about the idea of a new year and the prospect of new business. Of course, challenges exist in business every year, but 2020 forced me to change my perspective on how we do business because Covid-19 halted all of our safety training operations. However, Alberta legisation still requires businesses to follow the rules according to their specific industry. This includes First Aid and Fall Protection training as well as
updates to Safety Manuals, Safe Work Practices, Safe Job Procedures and Company Polices—especially during a pandemic. The majority of the business we completed this year was around helping companies write
policies that will protect their employees.
The whole lockdown/quarantine has allowed me to re-evaluate
priorities for personal life and the business. We’ve evolved and adapted to a new set of challenges and what will most likely be the new “normal”
by expanding the online portion of the business where we were able to reach a broader audience who require safety training. The internet has allowed us to remain connected with our communities.
I believe that a platform like Womanition is so important going forward because of the community it offers. As women in business, we are
all facing simliar challenges but here we can support and encourage one another. If there is a service that we require, we need look no further than
this Womanition magazine of reputable experts in their industry. As this year continues, I’m sure there are more challenges
ahead but I am proud to be involved in each edition of Womanition magazine, which advocates for and shines
the spotlight on amazing, fantastic woman in businesses. Thank you to Womaniton and all the support!
