Biography




      Program Participants:







                           Dr. Sandy Charles is a board-certified cardiologist and medical director of the
                           new Novant Health Women’s Heart & Vascular Center.  She attended Princeton
                           University for college where she majored in Molecular Biology.  She then
                           attended medical school at Columbia University.  She completed her residency
                           in internal medicine at Columbia University-New York Presbyterian Hospital and
                           subsequently completed her cardiology fellowship at New York University
                           Medical Center.  In addition to being board certified in cardiovascular disease,
                           Dr. Charles is also board certified in echocardiography, nuclear medicine, and

      internal medicine.  She received the distinction of Top Doctor in 2020 and 2021 by Charlotte
      Magazine.  She is a television medical contributor with multiple guest appearances on the CW
      news, WBTV, and Fox news.  Dr. Charles led the development of the women’s heart center at
      Novant Health.  She is committed to improving cardiovascular health in women by delivering
      personalized care that addresses women’s unique needs through the various stages of their lives.
      She specializes in a variety of cardiac disorders including coronary disease, heart failure, pregnancy
      related heart disease, valvular heart disease, cholesterol disorders, and arrhythmias.









                           Ms. Brittannie Chester, MS, RDN, LD, CDCES is a Registered Dietitian and
                           Certified Diabetes Educator who is the Didactic Program in Dietetics Director at
                           Tuskegee University, owner of Chester Nutrition Counseling, LLC and First Lady
                           of St.  Mark Baptist Church in Huntsville, AL. She is also a PhD candidate in
                           Auburn University’s Nutrition program. She specializes in diabetes and heart
                           disease prevention and management, and is passionate about teaching and

                           training students to become nutrition professionals and providing patients with
      the nutrition care and education needed to live a healthy lifestyle.
