IB Diploma Programme at PLIS
A story of concerted success
Park Lane International School has come a long way since the authorisation to implement the IB Diploma Programme back in 2018. Despite the pandemic heavily influencing the educational sector worldwide, Park Lane graduates achieved excellent results in May 2021.
The Class of 2021 had a very tough year spending the most of their learning time online, especially in their final year of IB. Although the situation was unclear regarding their final examinations and the May 2021 exams were officially can-
YEAR 2021
celled close to Easter of 2021, all of our 2021 Graduates as well as their teachers worked hard until the very last moment to hand in excellent work (speaking mainly of the Internal Assessment which is externally assessed by IBO) which served as the basis (among other relevant inputs) for their final grade.
The success at the May 2021 examina- tion session was also supported by this cohort’s excellent results in their iGCSEs back in 2019. There is a clear link in terms of consistency and sustained approach
towards our students’ learning as the ulti- mate imperative across the year groups. It is obvious that our IB students are able to score highly also because of the excellent education they are provided with in KS4, KS3 and before.
It is however also important to note that the high results enabled our cohort of 2021 to pursue their university studies
at the institutions of their choice. Park Lane graduates secured their places at premiere universities worldwide, such as:
▨ King’s College, UCL or Imperial College London, University of Edinburgh in the UK,
▨ Yale University in the USA
▨ The 3rd Faculty of Medicine at Charles
University or ČVUT (Technical Univer-
sity) in Prague.
(a detailed overview of the university destinations can be found
at www.parklane-is.com).
Our inclusive approach enables each individual student to reach their potential and provides for even further develop- ment of every young individual on the IB programme. It is not by coincidence that an individualised and tailored approach to every student, a very broad offer of IB sub- jects to study and relatively small classes enable our students to achieve way above the world average as well as better than in other IB schools in our neighbourhood.
