World Book Day 2022
World Book Day is a celebration! It’s a cel- ebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading. In fact, it’s the biggest celebration of its kind.
At Park Lane it’s a memorable time of the year and this year was no exception. The aim is to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading and it is a great opportunity to promote reading more and more both in and out of school. In Early Years and Primary a range of activities were put in place and the days were packed full of stories and fun and exciting tasks linked to them.
Wild About Reading
Reading is an essential part of our curricu- lum so this year we celebrated World Book Day which took place on Thursday 3rd March with a range of activities spread over a week.
A massive thank you to Miss
Anna and Miss Lynsie for leading, creating and putting together the 'Wild About Reading' theme and a thank you to all the staff for all the work that went into mak- ing the week a success.
Over the course of the week, the Norber- tov school was transformed with won- derful displays, special reading lanterns, large colourful book characters and decorated doors. The children enjoyed the 'Bedtime story' theme where the children could dress in their pyjamas, fun reading challenges, drop everything and read time, lunchtime reading, buddy reading and a book character dress up where we saw a lot of wild animals all around the school. What a superb effort everyone made with their costumes! We are already looking forward to celebrating World Book Day next year!
