Chapter 22
Sanya
I
s there a how-to manual that gives explicit instructions on what to do when
your overly sexy roommate/male best friend who you’ve lusted after for
months pulls you against his hard body and kisses your toe-nail polish off? If
so, I would love to read it.
Henry’s kiss is like no other kiss I’ve ever experienced in my life. I feel it
throughout my entire body. Until that kiss, I’d thought poetry was bullshit made
up by bombastic writers. Now, I wish I possess the gift of prose. I would write
sonnets, haikus, odes and everything else in between. Hell, I’d write a fucking rap
and beatbox about that shit.
I take his advice from that morning and don’t act weird when we return to the
group, however, I do shoot a text to Chanel with a fainting GIF.
“Henry and I are going dress shopping,” I announce when we make it back to
the hotel.
“But…my bridal shower,” Tala sputters.
I put my hand on her shoulder. “Tala, while I feel we’ve gotten to know each
other better in the last twenty-four hours, we all know I’m only in the wedding
because I was dating Teo when you got engaged.” She blushes, and the others look
guilty. “Your family and other friends are here. My gift is already there. Enjoy.”
She nods. “Okay, but you will be at the rehearsal and dinner tonight, right?”
“Right.” She still looks a little sad. “Look on the bright side; I am updating my
bridesmaid dress.”
“She probably can’t fit the original she had to have.”
Tala cuts Teo an evil look before responding, “I can’t wait to see it.”
