“Instead of just waking me up to talk? What did I do?” I need to know.
“Nothing. You’re a great friend, and you were a model roommate.
Think of it as equipment. I need to recalibrate.”
Friend? Roommate? My hurt morphs into anger. I know our status is
undefined, but we are beyond friends and roommates.
I can’t deal with this right now. It hurts too much. I know a blow off when I
hear one. She was trying to do the same thing yesterday, but I forced more time. It
hadn’t worked. She still bolted the first chance she got.
“Calibrate away,” I grind out angrily before hanging up in her face.
I throw my phone and it shatters. Okay, that was stupid. Now I have to pull
myself together long enough to replace it.
Maybe tomorrow.
