2. A fake or “bootleg” Christian will exhibit their true Christianity before marriage. Be absolutely sure that you marry a person

who loves God first and you second. You must sincerely worship together – attending bible study and prayer meetings.

Faking it in public and living miserably at home is not a good idea.

3. Any physical abuse or embarrassing comments in front of others are all indications that the person you are courting is not

the person to marry. Responses like “I was just playing” are precursors for violence later.

4. Sound employment or an established career is very important. Watch for a good work ethic.

5. Being respectful and courteous are highly important in the home as well as outside the home.

6. Positive teamwork in marriage is crucial.

7. Refrain from negative communication concerning your husband’s or wife’s family. In other words, do not discuss,
mistreat, or give negative advice about each other’s families. It will affect your marriage.

The integration of public schools was just beginning when I applied for a job in the Broward County School System in Fort

Lauderdale. I was hired the same day that I took my application to the School Board. The secretary was kind enough to let me know

there was a Principal floating around who needed an African-American to integrate his school. She informed him that she had found
a teacher for him. We met for an interview and in forty-five minutes he was letting me know the day and time I was to report for work.

Another “BUT GOD” experience!
