DEDICATION
Dear Mom and Dad,
H
allelujah! Thank you, Jesus! I have finally finished writing this book. I thought about this undertaking when Tajiri's doors
closed in 2008, and it took me 15 years to bring this vision to pass.
First of all, I am so grateful for all the lessons I learned from both of you, Mother and Dad. The two of you gave me a great
foundation to live successfully in this world. Your introduction of God into my life positioned me for the great blessings He had
planned for me. It was a "Grand Slam!" There is no way that I could have made it without the spiritual component that you gave me.
Of course, I was not a perfect child under certain circumstances, but because of your prayers, I have made it to 77 years of age - A
REAL MIRACLE! I plan to live much longer with a sound mind like yours!
Mother, I wanted to accomplish what you did not get a chance to do. I know that writing a book was one of your greatest desires
when you retired. I came to understand that I was commissioned by God to do it when one of your library books ended up in my
hands after your death. The book was entitled, "Someday You'll Write" by Elizabeth Yates. I found this strange because I know I am
not really a writer. Mom, it's certain, I will never be as good a writer as you were. You truly loved books. You would read them and
share them with your elementary and middle school students as their librarian. Besides that, you were an awesome speaker, and I
greatly enjoyed following you around the community to watch you serve as the guest speaker at many churches.
I found the book by Elizabeth Yates inside a box of books that Dad said you had left me. I was so surprised to learn that you had given
this box of books to a lady while on your way home from school. It's my understanding that you told the lady the box was for me -
your daughter. Mother, did you know you would be dying soon, before we got a chance to see each other again since I was living in
Miami at the time of your fatal accident? WHAT A MYSTERY!
