Charles Haywood Merritt II was nationally known in the radio arena as the “Mad Hatter.” To me, he was the best brother a sister

could ever have. He was kind, jovial, and full of much wisdom. We never, ever had a fight or disagreement. I believed everything he

told me about life’s challenges. He was my real friend! I loved my brother!
