Chapter 1

                                                  Setting the Stage

"And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice,
He said 'Father, into to Your hands I commit My Spirit."'
                                                         Luke 23:46

With these words, Jesus completes the greatest act of love known to humankind!

Perfection had died for imperfection. The perfect sin offering had been made.
Four thousand years of prophesy had been fulfilled, completely and totally,
through God's Messiah! Love had conquered hell, death and the grave. Jesus'

                mission had been completed.

Something took place that day on Golgotha that will NEVER again be duplicated.
History was forever changed! God left a home made by man and took up residence
in the hearts of those who would confess and believe that He is the Son of God,
The Christ, who died and rose again! We, His people, His church, became the Ark
of the Covenant, so to speak. We became the "tent of meeting," the tabernacle,
the temple. God chose to live in us!

Yet there were those who walked with Him, broke bread with Him, and learned
from Him that were crushed! They had just begun to know Him, understand His
ways, His plan, His purpose, when suddenly, unexpectedly, He was gone. Crucified
by fellow Jews! These are the same disciples who were told specifically by Jesus
               that...

"the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and
scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again."
                                                         Mark 8:31

The Messiah's death was the fulfillment of prophesy spoken by Jesus Himself.
Reason would dictate that if Jesus' death was the fulfillment of the prophetic

word spoken in Mark 8:31, why wouldn't the second half of the same statement be
                true also...

"and after three days rise again."
