                    I.    SYSTEM – INPUTS AND PROCESSES

                    •    Institution’s Collection Development Policy


                    The        Collection          Management               Policy        Statement
                    (Selection/Acquisition/De-selection) is incorporated in

                    the Library Operations Manual of the Isabela State

                    University. Its objectives include the following:

                    1) To select and acquire materials of contemporary

                         significance and of permanent value. With this, the

                         library will always be guided in achieving a balance
                         collection to support the curricular offerings of the

                         institution;

                    2) To provide a technology of sophisticated instructional

                         gadgets for faster information delivery systems that

                         are in line with the thrust on information technology;
                         and


                    3) To preserve the collection and to keep them from
                         harmful elements thus prolonging the collection’s life

                         span for more serviceable years.





                               It    is    further       stipulated        in     the     Collection

                    Development Policy Statement that to keep the collection

                    updated, a regular selection process is done because of
                    old editions or copies no longer useful maybe relegated

                    to allow space for new acquisitions. This policy may be
                    revised or changed in part whenever deemed necessary

                    and will be endorsed and make known to the

                    administration.
