EXHIBITION
Despite the global economic downturn in 2020, industry still needs new markets and
contracts. In addition, in this sense, exhibitions remain one of the most effective tools for
recovering the economy after Covid-19 and raising the status of companies in the global market,
the moderator emphasized.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Mikhail Ivanov addressed
the participants with a welcoming speech. He emphasized the importance of the Metalloobrabotka
exhibition for the machine-tool industry and noted with satisfaction that representatives of
more than 10 foreign industry associations are taking part in the online roundtable.
The Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia expressed confidence
that the round table and the subsequent exhibition "Metalworking-2021" will provide new
opportunities for discussing the development of machine tool industry and cooperation with
foreign countries. Elena Guseva, Head of the Department of Own Exhibitions at Expocentre,
spoke about the upcoming international
specialized exhibition of equipment, instruments
and tools for the metalworking industry
Metalloobrabotka-2021. This year's exhibition
with a total area of over 30,000 sq. m will be
attended by about 600 industrial companies from
25 countries. National expositions (organized by
Messe Düsseldorf with the support of the VDW and
Swissmem Associations) will represent Germany
and Switzerland, as well as the Czech Republic
(a national exposition is organized by the SST
Association) and Belarus. A collective exposition
is being formed for Italian companies.
Almost 70% of the exhibiting companies
work in the metalworking industry, 47% represent
the general mechanical engineering. The exhibition
will demonstrate machinery and equipment from such areas as: heavy, medium and precision
mechanical engineering, instrument making and optics, defense industry complex, adjustment,
maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment, 3D printing / additive technologies,
precision engineering / radio engineering and electronic engineering, information technology,
petroleum chemistry. In total, the exposition "Metalworking-2021" will feature more than 20
sectors of industrial production, Elena Guseva said.
According to her, the Industry 4.0 section, within which the conference will take place
on May 26, will become new and long-awaited for many participants. It will be devoted to
trends in the automation of metalworking production, modern technical and software solutions,
innovations and the role of artificial intelligence in modern production.
Pavilion 8 (Hall 3) will host the Additive Technologies section. The exposition will be
complemented by a 4-day International Conference on Additive Technologies and 3D Solutions
"Industry 3D". The conference will be held in a non-standard hybrid format: the Day of Association
