          Awards of the Indian Society of Victimology and Guidelines to Apply



          (A) Professor K. Chockalingam Award



         1. The highest award of the ISV is presented in honour of Professor K. Chockalingam. The
            award carries a plaque, a certificate, and a citation.
         2. The award is presented every two years to an individual (academic/practitioner) for their
            significant contribution to the field of Victimology in India.
         3. Members of the ISV can send nominations in writing, providing complete details of the

             achievement/contribution made by the nominee to the General Secretary of the ISV. Self-
            nominations will NOT be accepted.
         4. The nominee for this award should not hold office or position in the management of the

            ISV during the period of nomination.
         5. The General Secretary will place all nominations received (within the stipulated deadline)
            before the Awards Committee, constituted by the Executive Committee of the ISV.

         6. The  recommendations  of  the  Awards  Committee  may  be  approved  by  the  Executive
            Committee of the ISV. The decision of the Executive Committee will be FINAL.
         7. The Awardee will be intimated of the decision of the Executive Committee of the ISV and
            he/she  will  be  requested  to  receive  the  award  during  the  inaugural  function  of  the

            Biennial Conference of the ISV.
         8. If the Awards Committee feels that there is none in its wisdom deserving of the award in a
            given year, the Committee has the right to decide accordingly.





          (B) Fellowship Award



         1. This  award  is  given  to  individuals  in  recognition  of  their  significant  contribution  to  the
            growth and development of the ISV.
         2. Members of the ISV can send nominations in writing, providing complete details of the

             achievement/contribution made by the nominee to the General Secretary of the ISV.
         3. Self-nominations are NOT accepted.
         4. The Executive Committee of the ISV will decide upon the Awardee(s).

         5. The award will be signed by the President and General Secretary of the ISV.
