The Government Affairs Committee works with our elected officials to ad-
vocate on behalf of the Van Buren business community to maintain a pro-
business climate in our town, county, and state. The committee will host
several events exclusively for Chamber members with an elected official
as the special guest.
Other events planned for 2023 include monthly legislative updates during
the general assembly, and a workshop for Chamber Members on how to
work with legislators. Sponsorship investment will include all committee events.
This is an annual sponsorship.

2023 Western AR Legislative Reception in Partnership with the
Fort Smith Chamber of Commerce

The Western Arkansas Legislative Reception is hosted for all State Legislators, elected officials and their
staff members in Little Rock to appreciate all that they do. This event is designed to help our members
become better acquainted with our elected officials and to raise the profile of our community.
