My Journey to Pentecost – God Shows Up By Mrs. Edwardine Clarke
This season my journey from Easter to Pentecost was definitely the rough path of the way. For it seemed as though
that we were being beaten with many stripes, wounded for our transgressions and chastised for our iniquities. It is
hard to explain the impact of the forces of nature which descended in the path that resulted in severe health
challenges , that were brought on by the Covid 19 pandemic, a volcanic eruption and the thousands of lives lost and
affected by the health challenges. This rough path highlighted the need for intense spiritual reflection, certainly a
time of change and for change.
The rough path of this journey brought into focus the vulnerability of life on earth and
forced me to acknowledge that the physical challenges paled in comparison to the
spiritual challenges (this was the bigger picture). There was no doubt that God was at
work and working His purposes out. However, as I became preoccupied by the
darkness on the path from the challenges and crises, there was no fear – because it
seemed as though fear was overcome by faith. Then in an air of unease and uncertainty
there was the most awesome experience…. because God shows up.
