It is a bloody mess.
The dead man lies on his face.
A human limb lies twenty yards off in a shrub. A shell splinter in the belly- the blood is still fresh. Senseless fear takes hold of me
All I can do is groan and pray
Over there lies a body- the legs are missing The earth is black with blood, blacker than ever A shell crashes
